For specialized cases, we consult and rely on specialists around the St. Louis area and the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine to help provide the best care available for your pet.
We work collaboratively with the following specialized areas:
Dr. Elizabeth J. Ryan is a 2006 graduate of the University of Missouri Veterinary Medicine Program. She has been practicing for more than 17 years and looks forward to serving the community of DeSoto. She cherishes the legacy she has become a part of since becoming the new Practitioner and owner.
Her family moved to DeSoto in the Fall of 2018 and she purchased the practice in October of 2021. Her husband David S. Ryan and 3 children Christian, Alex and Anneliese look forward to meeting everyone in the community. They have enjoyed being a part of this great city and community!
Dr. Miesner has officially retired from Veterinary services since the hospital has been taken over by Dr. Ryan. We value his lifelong service to the area, and we wish him well in all his new endeavors.

Our commitment to caring for your pet is the reason our team is focuses on the well being of a variety of aspects for you and your pets. Communication is instrumental to our teamwork as well as our patients care, so we strive to provide the finest care along with your input to achieve the best possible healthy pet lifestyles. We are committed to ensuring the best healthy pet lifestyle for your pets, so please ask your Veterinarian or Technician team about specific ways your pets learn and behave.
The more we understand how our pets communicate the easier it becomes to promote healthy family habits that come along with proactive pet care. Our mission is to create the best lifestyle you and your pets can live.
We are honored to be available for your pets at our home and want to promote the best experience possible in their homes, so please ask us about those strange or unexpected habits your pets may exhibit. Also, ask about ways to avoid such behaviors such as separation anxiety, which is normal for animals. We will be happy to talk about ways you can address these behaviors, so please share your questions or concerns during your appointment.
Once our team understands the needs of our patients of which some cases testing may be required, we will devise a treatment plan with ongoing monitoring for some cases until all are satisfied with the care provided.
